This hybrid 2D/3D animated music video was created entirely by myself with a hand-drawn 2D character composited into a 3D pop-up book themed environment. While I had some experience building 2D character rigs for Big Nate, this required a full 360 rig with cloth and hair physics, video camera-controlled facial expressions, and a mocap capable skeleton.
This was also a testing ground for some unique effects I later used for Bookstory, which took the 2D-illustration-in-3D-space technique even further.
